Eurocopter AS350 B2 (Squirrel) x 1
The AS350 is a European designed helicopter. It is a very versatile helicopter due to its large lift capability and open cockpit design. It is extensively used around the world and has a reputation of being a very safe and reliable helicopter.
Although a bit tricky to land, the AS350 has an 3 bladed articulated main rotor design made up of carbon fibre and elastomeric components. This makes this helicopter very stable for lifting and less affected by wind and turbulence.
Bell 206 L3 (Long Ranger) x 1
The 206L3 (Long Ranger) is an American designed helicopter based on the popular Jet Ranger. It offers a more spacious cabin, higher useful load and smoother ride than the Jet Ranger. Before the arrival of the AS350, the 206L3 was used around the world for all types of missions and has a reputation for being a very safe, cost effective and reliable helicopter.
This helicopter has a 2 bladed teetering main rotor system. Although this makes the helicopter less stable in the wind and turbulence, it typically has longer main rotor blades than multi bladed articulated helicopters. This results in a wider, lower disk loading main rotor that doesn’t stir up the air beneath the helicopter, meaning it is perfect for spraying.
Bell 206 B3 (Jet Ranger) x 2
The 206B3 (Jet Ranger) is an American designed helicopter. It is one of the most successful helicopters ever built. It fits in between the larger AS350 and the Robinson helicopters as a very safe, cost effective and reliable helicopter.
Hughes 500 E x 2
The Hughes 500E is an American designed helicopter. It is one of the sports cars of the sky. It is a well proven design and first choice for confined area operations and working in the hills. The H500 has a 5 bladed fully articulated main rotor design. This makes this helicopter very manoeuvrable, but also stable through all phases of flight. Therefore it is less affected by wind and turbulence.
Robinson R44 Raven I & II x 4
The Robinson R44 is an American designed helicopter. The aircraft has proved itself as a great agricultural aircraft and sightseeing platform due to its reliability and smaller size. The R44 has an 2 bladed hinged teetering main rotor design. This makes this helicopter more manoeuvrable and stable than a Bell 206 to fly, but very sensitive to high wind and turbulence. This makes the R44 a great agricultural helicopter for operating in the calm.
Hughes 300C x 2
The Hughes 300C is an American designed helicopter. Although it was designed as a military trainer, it has completed many roles, from law enforcement to agricultural spraying. The aircraft dynamic components have been proven to be robust and safe when operating in turbulent conditions. The H300 has a 3 bladed fully articulated main rotor design. This makes this helicopter very manoeuvrable, but also stable through all phases of flight. This makes it less affected by wind and turbulence.
